I recently subscribed to news:comp.unix.shell. I started 
reading at the top -- the oldest posts eternal-september
has available. In this case it is 2012. The depth of 
goodness is impressive in this group. It got me to 
understand for example when to quote and when not to. Simple
but never clicked. Many more items have been clarified by 
reading this group, simply lurking.
