# On a gopherhole rewrite

I have been kicking around the idea for a
while of doing a rewrite on RPoD. I want
to remove the textfiles mirror and all
other content I did not produce. I am also
kicking around the idea of changing to a
different gopherd (still to be determined),
in any case, I also want to go fully static
and so I need to figure out what CGI apps
I want to absolutely keep (moving them to
SDF), and what I truly am `meh' about.
My phlog auto archive (past years still
reachable by same selector, but hidden
from the main listing) may be a deciding
factor to not go fully static. I need to
explore all stable options, and there are
a lot of these!

The eleven and a half gigabytes of the RPoD
gopherhole is *too damn much* for any sort
of portability. This is another driver of
the thought process that has led me to
consider this action. If nothing else,
being unemployed has made me wary of
perceived permanence. A reasonable size
and thoughtful structure will greatly aid
this endeavor.
