# RPG Family Time *Entered: in vim on x201* | *Date: 20200225* I purchased Four Against Darkness, Four Against the Abyss, and some other books in the series. I have transcribed the rules onto standard sized blank playing cards and sleeved them into a small book made for Dungeons and Dragons spell cards. ![](/Phlog/images/4AD-minibook.jpg) I have really been enjoying the hybrid system I have come up with during play, incorporating things from Tunnels and Trolls, Dungeons and Dragons, and other sources such as the Tome of Adventure Design (which I have as a PDF on a cheap android tablet). Enjoying it so much, in fact, that I broke my solo only rule and have a non-hybrid rules game going with my daughter Lucille. We are using multi-level dungeon alternate rules, and are going to head above ground with the The Crucible of Classic Critters ruleset after we have leveled up our party sufficiently that we won't immediately total party kill. I have the PDFs and the books, and have given her the books so she can play solo as she wishes. It has been a very enjoyable time.
