# Vocation

Being unable to find any work for the past year has led me to a
drastic decision: I am throwing away my 20 year resume. I am
attending truck driving school as that is the only work available
here since the death of the oil field. I want to say I do not give
a shit, but, I cannot say this honestly.

There are a lot of regulations to learn, skills to hone to do this
new vocation well. My heart is not really in it, but I feel I can
do a good job in the end...

Since I wrote my first lines of code in 1985, I have wanted to work
with computers and technology. Granted, prior to this, in the late
70s, my parents bought me a kids book about big trucks, however, I
never saw myself in transportation. If nothing else, having this
credential will provide me with a cushion, a fall back. One never
knows what the future brings.
