In fact, it works both ways.  I have to get farther away to view it
wall-eyed, but it works.  Of course, the 3D is inverted if you view it
wall-eyed i.e, the letters on top are closer to you than the letters on
bottom.  I think it was intended to be viewed cross-eyed.
