There are a few books available out in bookstores that deal with the whole 3D phenomena. If you want theory then there is the book "Random Dot Stereograms" By "Julez" that describes the whole inital investigation. The newer ones with the Single image Random Dot Stereograms are more interesting and easier to understand. I reecomend looking in the bookstore for the new ones. If you want info On how to make 3D in ascii then an understanding is neccessary. These books do not explain ascii-3D but there is a FAQ that does explain a little If I can find it Ill repost it.
