Just follow the steps below. 1. Start a message to FTPMAIL@DECWRL.DEC.COM Leave the subject blank. 2. The following commands can be included in the body of the message. Capitalized commands must be typed exactly as shown and lowercase words are replacable paramaters. CONNECT hostname -Connects to host's computer. Replace hostname with the name of an FTP sight. CHDIR path -Changes your working directory. Replace path with complete name of a directory. BINARY -Specifies to send a binary file such as a program, spreadsheet, word processing file, UUENCODEd file. This command has no replaceable parameters. ASCII -Specefies to send an plain text file. This command has no replaceable parameters. GET filename -Sends a file to your computer. Replace filename with the name of file that you wish to have. QUIT -Tells FTP-Mail that the message ends here. Useful if your mailer automatically inserts a .sig file. This commmand has no replaceable parameters. 3. Your message will be agnowledged by DEC. It will be given a number which you should save in case of a problem. 4. Within a day or two you should recieve either a file or an error message. If you get an error, make sure that the filenames are correct (remember capitalization!), the commands are typed correctly, and the host is correct. Hope this solves some problems. --- __ __ | "The grim fact is that | _____ | \ \ / / | we prepare for war like | / \ | \ \ / / | precocious giants and | | . . | | \ \/ / | for peace like retarted | | | | | / /\ \ | pygmies."-Lester Pearson | | \___/ | | / / \ \ | | | | | /_/ \_\ | | \_____/ | | Jim Smith | | Trust no one. | stge88b@prodigy.com | Have a nice day! |
