Sorry. I forgot to mention that. Tin is a newsreader (like rn,trn, and, ug, nn). It is menu based (i.e. you can use the arrow keys to move up and down to select your newsgroup and article. I presonally think it is much superior to all the others. You can do a lot of cool stuff with it. I am not sure where you can pick up a copy though.
