I like the fact that the articles are now sorted on my machine into REQUESTS, QUESTIONS, TALK, LINE, GIF, and the misc. non-identified stuff. and then sub-sorted (for the most part) by the rest of the subject. You see I can decide, "oh gee I don't have a lot of time I'll just read the line art today" and it's all right there grouped together.... I don't have to scan the whole group for what I want it's all right there (kinnda like how threading works on a threaded news reader). In fact, I like it so much that it becomes annoying when people do not use the identifiers. For instance today I found one article identified as line:, and many identified as request: and I knew exactly what to expect... the other 50 posts I had to thumb through to figure out what they contained... (most of them wasting my time although I really like the dragon posts... would have been nice to know they were line though.) To summarize: While yes the ID may be in you face, with a threaded news reader that sorts by subject, reading news is simplified. If ID,s were put at the ends of lines the sorting would not "categorize" articles and it would be like reading unthreaded/unsorted news (and personally I don't want to go back to Readnews.
