Do I need > special glasses? Do I need to stare at it for a couple of hours like that > "art" in the mall? I just can't get it. Sorry. :-) A couple of hours is not necessary... ;) Just stay in front of your screen, at approx. 30 cm (excuse me, I'm using REAL (metric) units !) of the monitor, without your glasses (if the case arises...) and look at the picture, as if it was behind the screen... It means that you are looking far away, as if the picture was transparent and if you looked THROUGH it ! There is a hint to know if you are well focused or not : there are 2 or 3 circles at the top or the bottom of the picture. When you are well focused, you will see 2 of them coincide. When you begin to see something, don't stop... Remain focused, and the pic ture will appear more and more clearly. For the first time, it should take less than 5 minutes... Example : zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro zxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeirozxcvbnmasdfhgjkeiro o o o This is a plane without anything on it, but you should apply the technique explained above to view THROUGH it. At a moment, you will see CLEARLY all the characters, but you will know that you are looking behind the plane of your screen. The main problem is that everything that is not on the virtual 3D plane can prevent your vision from remaining well focused. For example, if the arrow of your mouse is placed on the picture, there are few chances that you will ignore it and look behind. Now another example, for those who successed in seeing the first one (you will notice that as soon as you've seen it once, you will see it easier the next time) : @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n n f f f f f f f f f f f f f e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r r This one is a really good example, from Mike Jittlov's collection. There are 2 virtual 3D planes (far & near). Next... You can try all the 3D art spread around (take a look at ftp.wwa.com, there are a lot of them !). Hope you will see all the 3D ascii art !!! Bye ! PS : My .sig has 3 planes...
