AuraGem Gopher Server

This is my gopher server. Some things are proxied over from the
Gemini Server, like the search engine, public radio, devlog, the
YouTube proxy, and a few other things.

This Gopher server tries to present in a way that is more common
to Gopherspace: that is a hierarchical menusystem of links to other
menus and to files. The proxying tries to take this into account as
best as possible.

This server is powered by a new project I am working on, called
Smallnet Information Services, or SIS for short. I chose this name
because it is very similar in functionality to Microsoft's Internet
Information Services in that it provides a server suite for many
different protocols and allows you to easily control servers via an
admin interface (it uses Gemini for this). SIS is not ready for an
official release yet, but it is getting very close to being ready. I
hope to have it ready within a month at the latest.

It has been a while since I have had a Gopherspace presence. Before
joining Geminispace, I was on the Zaibatsu Circumlunar Space pubnix.
When Geminispace was getting up and running, within a year I launched
my Ponix server (at pon.ix.tc). There were long periods of downtime
when I was away from Geminispace and the server stopped running, for
one reason or another. Eventually, I renamed Ponix to AuraGem and
relaunched it. I now intend to keep AuraGem running, and have been
doing so for the past 6 months at least.

In response to some of the exclusionary mindsets I saw in the
Bitreich IRC (see "My Experiences Within the Bitreich IRC"), I will
be promoting the other alternative protocols to the Web and Gopher
more, including Nex, Spartan, Titan, Misfin, and Guppy. They all have
their uses, they all have unique attributes, and one is not better
than any of the others. AuraGem provides sites for all of these
protocols, and I intend to expand my Search Engine to crawl all of
these protocols as well. Gopher will be the last to be implemented
because it is the least imoprtant when some of these other protocols
don't even have one search engine available.
