No, I'm telling you that Ctrl-A codes are preferred. Just like it says at https://wiki.synchro.net/network:dove-net

Most ANSI advertisements don't use cursor positioning codes and nowadays modern tools (e.g. PabloDraw) can save directly to Ctrl-A file format.

It'd be better if the advertisements were posted in a neutral (e.g. ctrl-a) encoding.

True, but at least it could be a legible representation or decent approximation that's still visible on the user's terminal. Just blinding sending ANSI sequences to the terminal is not a good idea.
