Each week they woud have a live guest appear, however it was clear they were lip syncing (no cords on guitars.) On youtube I catch old "live" performances from other shows, and even ran into some performances where the singer is live, but the backing trac k was taped. An example was the Byrds playing on a variety show, and it sounds like it was a drag in the tape when the show was recorded, but you could hear David Crosby attempt to adjust for the audio hiccup. The only reason I could imagine them doing a partially taped show is because Roger McGuinn's guitar sound was heavily processed by 1960's standards, and it was probably recorded in a studio where the compressor and other gear was set up. --- þ Synchronet þ The Cave BBS - Since 1992 - cavebbs.homeip.net .
