The networks expanded their programming to meet the older early bird  and late
 night owl crowd.  The early bird news is less likely to be channel surfed,
which is better for advertisers.  You can tell it's targetted towards senior
citizens because the major advertisers are Gold Bond Powder, adult
diapers, and Geritol
