It's not hard to do, and it (quoting relevant bits) makes discussions that much easier to follow. Your 40 columns, and quoting, seems to work just fine for what it is. When someone doesn't quote a message they're replying to, I usually don't try to go back to whatever message they're replying to to try to understand the conversation. I just hit the "next" key. As far back as I can remember, whether it be BBSing, newsgroups, web forums, etc. Quoting has always been kind of an "etiquette" thing. If you don't choose to, that's fine, but you probably won't get as many responses as you would if you did. :) Regards, Nick ....
