well the dnr's game wardens are pretty decent around here.
I just think one person really brought it to their attention.

doing a mass genocide on these horrible cicadas could affect the ecosystem.
they basically evolved to do this 17 year cycle so they wouldn't be wiped out, as well.

There have been a lot of articles in my area saying where the bugs are and doing an 'everyone's doing it' article about collecting them and eating them.
