I did ages ago, but I never really did anything with the allocation they gave me and I think it eventually got released back into the pool. I believe Cyan still has some address space from them that he uses. You'd know him as the guy who wrote the Synchronet IRCD. If you can get in touch with him, he'd be able to tell you about his experience. kk> Let me know, I think this is very cool and would like to know other kk> peoples thoughts, feelings, etc on the subject. A bit of scandal a few years back when ARDC sold off a chunk of the address space to (I think) Amazon. Partly just on principle, partly with the question being raised of whether they even had the ownership/right to do so. They've since been using the proceeds to fund a grant, and if you have a cool digital ham radio project in mind you can apply for some of that money. I guess I'm okay with it if they manage the money well and use it to benefit the hobby in perpetuity. Time will tell. Most of that address space was going unused, after all. We lose radio spectrum if we don't use it too, and with less direct benefit from the proceeds of the sale. echicken electronic chicken bbs - bbs.electronicchicken.com --- þ Synchronet þ electronic chicken bbs - bbs.electronicchicken.com .
