Another big gotcha in these parts is it's illegal to operate from land managed by Parks Victoria, which precludes operation from state and national forests, as well as many regional parks, historical sites and recreation areas. However, city owned facilities have no such restrictions, so it pays to check carefully whose land youre operating from. Getting it wrong could cost thousands (I think the fine for flying a drone from PV managed land is around $3k). Unfortunately, this data is not easy to obtain in the field. I found their website not very mobile friendly, so the best way is to check your proposed operating sites on a PC/Mac, before heading out to fly. On a PC, you do get a good map of Parks Victoria managed land. ....
