Subj : Local License Exam Update To : All From : Daryl Stout Date : Fri Jul 19 2019 09:28 am Right now, I have 1 signed up to test in Sherwood on August 3, but no one yet for Benton on Sept. 14, or sherwood on Nov. 2 -- those are the last 3 license exam sessions I plan to do for 2019. All 3 exams (Technician, General, and Amateur Extra) will be offered. Take note that the General Class License Question Pool and resulting exams CHANGED on July 1. If your General Class Exam study material is dated 2015 or earlier, THROW IT OUT. You need to go to www.ncvec.org -- and download the 2019 General Class Question Pool from there. Examinees who would like to test, or Volunteer Examiners who'd like to serve, please reply OFF LIST to wx4qz at arrl dot net -- or call my voice mail at 501-476-2545...I will return your call as soon as possible. I need to have at least 2 guaranteed examinees testing on a particular day, so the VE's don't make the trip for nothing. If I have at least 2 examinees (I know last minute cancellations can occur), I can go on with testing. In line with that, if I do have this commitment of at least 2 candidates, I will take walk-ins at my discretion. However, with the exam starting at 10am Central Time in both Sherwood and Benton, the latest walk-ins will be taken is 10:30am Central Time. To find out if I am taking walk-ins on exam day, please email me at wx4qz at arrl dot net or to wx1der at gmail dot com -- as I can check my email once I get to the exam sites, usually at 9:30am. I want to keep the cellphone line open...as I just had to put my Mom into hospice, and I want to keep the line clear. I won't be able to check the voice mail once I leave for the exam site. Right now, after she dies, if I can work it out with the funeral home, I'll do a Wednesday night viewing, and a Thursday noon service for her funeral. They give my 92 year old Mom 3-4 weeks at most. However, ham radio, and my other hobbies of the BBS, and square dancing, are needed DIVERSIONS...at least for a few hours.
