Subj : Other Ham Radio News To : All From : Daryl Stout Date : Mon Feb 11 2019 11:55 am Well, I downloaded the latest version of DV Tool 2.1, and it appears to be working. However, with a stormy and unsettled weather pattern forecast across Arkansas into early Tuesday (the Little Rock area is under a FLASH FLOOD WARNING right now, along with a FLOOD WATCH through tonight), very little computer or ham radio work will be done. I don't want a renegade lightning strike zapping my setup...because then I would be permanently QRT. Besides, no amount of surge protection will protect you from a direct or nearby lightning hit. I'm going to try to get back to my D-Star Net schedule, but with Arkansas' Tornado Season approaching (we got an early start on it last week, with an EF-1 tornado in north central Arkansas near Yellville), there may be more and more times when I will NOT be able to run my D-Star Nets. Arkansas has a spring tornado season from March through May, and one in the fall from September through November...although tornadoes have occurred in the state during every month of the year...including the dead of winter.
