Subj : Echo Description To : ALL From : Daryl Stout Date : Tue May 31 2016 10:06 pm This message area is for topics covering ham radio license exams, and study options. Items included, which may also be in other echoes, include: 1) Different study options 2) License Exam Question Pools 3) Prior Exam Credit 4) What to bring to a license exam session 5) Exam Session Fees 6) Callsigns 7) License Modification And Renewal 8) A list of the Current License Question Pools and Schematic Diagrams While studying is NOT fun, the bottom line is that if you do not study at all...let alone study the correct material, you are guaranteed to fail the exam!! Much of the data is this area is taken from: http://www.wx1der.com/hamradio.htm#study To find a license exam in your area, go to: http://www.arrl.org Once there, click on EXAMS. Then, enter the desired criteria (such as a state), and click on SEARCH. Once you find a day, time, or location, that meets your liking, get in touch with contact person listed. Some sessions will allow walk-ins only (no pre-registration needed), some will REQUIRED pre-registrations (no walk-ins allowed), and some will permit both. Doing such will get your name on the roster, as seating at some exam sessions will be LIMITED...and once that limit is reached, you may NOT be able to get a seat at that exam session. Note that I am working on preparing batchfiles for these message areas, and it may take some time to get these posts going. Also, since I consider messages over 30 days old to be out of date on my BBS, these messages are deleted after that point, and reposted once a month, with new information, when required.
