Subj : Introduction. To : All From : Vk3jed Date : Sat Sep 10 2016 08:37 am Hi everyone, thought I'd fire up this echo. I'm Tony, VK3JED and have been involved in IRLP and Echolink for around 15 years. I an EchoIRLP node (IRLP 6390, Echolink VK3RTL-R, until I change its callsign). The node is attached to a repeater, which is currently running part time, until I get the paperwork sorted. The system also has a remote base attached, which I wrote, using a combination of shell scripts, thelinkbox, Hamlib and a handful of GNU utilities. The remote base currently controls a fully optioned up FT-736R (50, 144, 432 and 1296 MHz all mode). The remote can be accessed via IRLP DTMF commands, Echolink text box commands, DTMF over the local repeater, or command line. The command line interface could theoretically be used by a web interface, but that's an exercise for another developer. :) I also run IRLP reflector 9550, which is in the process of being upgraded to become IRLP server 4, one of the key systems on the network. The reflector carries a number of IRLP/Echolink dual mode conferences, the support for which I developed on the reflector itself. I was also one of the key developers of EchoIRLP, back in 2003-2004. Anyway, I've had a lot of fun on these modes over the years, and they still bring enjoyment. :) .... AAcckk!!
