Emma's New Job

You know that Emma's pizza place closed a couple months ago.
She's out of school and home for the summer and she has a new
job now.
She just got hired today. It's at Starbuck's in Target and
she's quite excited about it. Not sure when she starts but I'm
sure it won't be long.

I don't know of any Starbucks around here. " There are 37
Starbucks in New Zealand and half of them are in Auckland ! The
rest are scattered over the North and South Island "
I believe there is one in New Plymouth and WE did see it when
Annie and Richie were here last year and we all drove up to
visit NP, Bonnie and kids also drove up.... its a 4+ hour drive
each way ! Never been since and NO I have never tasted
Starbucks !

The Target where Emma will be is in Waterloo, closer to me than
Emma but not far from Emma's house either.
Yes, Emma is still seeing Justin. They seem to get along really
well and Justin is on a good track now employment wise so that's
a plus too.
Our world is flooded with Starbucks. They don't go into small
towns but bigger places there are many. Not sure how many in
Waterloo but several. We don't go there, it's way too expensive
and they have fancy coffees with ice cream, whipped cream,
etc.....more like a dessert really.

Well done Emma, I bet she is happy to get a new job. I suppose
the hours she works, works in around the hours she is in uni?
There are Starbucks all over the UK and when we took our Emma
over, it was her favourite place to get her iced coffee, she
would drag us into every Starbucks there was, that's how I know
the UK is saturated with them!! There are a lot over here too,
but not as many and I don't believe there are all that many on
the coast.

When she had the interview Emma said she told them that she can
pretty much work any time this summer but when school starts, it
would be different. I'm sure they are used to students and
their schedules. Starbucks HERE and for a LONG TIME is sort of
a status symbol, if you go to Starbucks then you are really
"IN"! It's so funny, how that all got started I do NOT know
but it's been a "thing" for years now.

Robert hates Starbucks coffee, he says it's very bitter. I'm not
a fan of their tea either. I find most chain coffee shops teas
are crap!!!!! I think it's a similar thing here, to 'meet up' in
Starbucks is the 'thing' to do, it used to be Gloria Jeans, but
that doesn't seem as popular these days apparently.
I'm sure they are used to hiring uni students and they work
around their hours.

I've hardly ever had anything from Starbucks. Once in awhile we
go there when Tom and Mary are here. Pam and Mary both love
Starbucks but they get the fancy dessert like drinks, not just
plain coffee. All of it is way too pricey.

I was thinking last night and I think I have been into a
Starbucks in Auckland .... Westgate where I would go shopping
now and again from Helensville .... once upon a time !
I would never buy a tea in any cafe' or any restaurant ... not
that I dine out often BUT I stick to my own home made Yorkshire
cuppa :)
