How to force upgrade iPod touch 2G series MC

I noticed that you can use whited00r to jailbreak and upgrade
2nd gen iPod touches on MB series but not MC. Is there another
way in which MC can be upgraded? I hate not being able to
download so many apps because they require iOS 5! :(

Uh, what? Keep in mind that whited00r is based off of ios 3.1.3
not ios 5 so it doesn't upgrade the ipod...

yeah that is the base ios but ios 4 inspired so it doesnt
upgrade the ipt.. thats what i thought...

Yeah.. Unfortunately the only way to upgrade your device past
iOS 4.2.1 is to simply get a newer device.. Besides, I doubt
that the older devices would be able to handle iOS 5 or 6 and it
would be really sluggish and buggy.. So anything you see about
upgrading your older device is probably just a custom firmware
of and older iOS made to look like a newer one.

The frameworks would be messed up but it isn't just for a4+
chips. Remember, the iphone 3gs runs ios 5 and 6 and has some
sort of samsung chip inside it, not an a4.

true i forgot about that but then again the 3g chip is the same
as the ipt 2g isnt it? the proccesors are practicaly the same
under clocked but ipt 2g is able to be over clocked to the speed
that is the same as iphone 3gs so there shouldnt be anything
wrong with it running ios 6 as well or at the least ios 5... i
       think

Okay, you have some good ideas and I understand what you're
saying but I'll clear some things up for you. The ipt 2g have a
600 mhz chip that is underclocked to 512 mhz or so and the 3gs
has an 800 mhz that is underclocked to 600 mhz (Note, the chip
itself is different so regardless of the actual speed the chip
itself is faster. Example: iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s have the same
proccessor speeds but the 4s has an a5 chip making it faster) So
even overclocked it might not run it well, plus overclocking it
will kill the battery. Another thing is ios 5 requires more ram
than ios 4 I think because of notification center and a few
other things. So running an older device on ios 5 would be bad
because of such a lack of ram on the device. I hope this helps
       understand better. :)

yeah i looked at ram and saw that but it is possible and if you
think about it apple did take the capability out of things in
ios 6 for iphone 3gs... so they could have done the same for ipt
2g... :) thjere are pros and cons but ether way:)
