Roleplay Fights Forum Rules
1) Write with rules of spelling and grammar in mind.
It does no good to write incomprehensible posts while
roleplaying. Understanding is important here. Be certain
everyone can understand you!
2) Emphasis should be on showing, not telling.
This is more so a fact to bear in mind rather than a true rule
or restriction. Roleplaying relies heavily on writing and vice
versa; do not be afraid to express the actions of your character
as though you were writing a story. Because you really are
telling a story. Do not settle for deflecting a sword blow;
wrench your enemy's sword aside in a shower of scarlet sparks!
3) There is no word limit to posts, minimum or maximum. Allow
this to play in your favor.
Without any writing limitation in this regard, you can really
roleplay how you want. Just want a quick brawl? Write shorter
posts with emphasis on action and movement. Want a complex and
morally grey story woven into your combat? Take more time and
expand on your characters as they clash.
4) Inappropriate content is strictly prohibited.
There are younger people among us, and it is our responsibility
to ensure they are not exposed to anything that may be deemed
inappropriate. Such topics included but are not limited to
excessive violence or gore, promotion of drugs or alcohol, or
overly sexualized themes. This is not a matter of limitation; it
is a matter of safety.
5) If there is no third party to watch over your fight, remember
the basic rules of roleplaying.
Bunnying, the act of addressing the action of an opposing player
after it has already occurred ("But before he _____ him, Fabio
_____ and saved himself"), is not allowed along with the classic
concept of "god-modding," the act of making your character
unreasonably powerful beyond their known abilities without tact
or prior explanation. Any violation of these rules can result in
punishment by the discretion of the third party or thread owner.
6) No information found in the Character Bio Forum may be used
against any character a creation of your own may encounter.
Reading and critiquing the bios of other members is all well and
good, but none of the information you may find in character bios
can make it into the heads of one of your roleplaying
characters. That is considered a violation of out-of-character
conduct and may justify immediate disqualification from a
roleplay.
7) Refrain from editing a post you have already made.
This is fairly self-explanatory. Editing a post can be seen as
"taking back" an action you made and is punishable by the
discretion of the third party or thread owner.
Roleplay Fight Discussion Forum Rules
1) Show courtesy to your fellow roleplayers.
Condescending or authoritative behavior toward other roleplayers
is not tolerated. Be kind to those who write with you.
2) If you have created a roleplaying fight of any kind, post a
discussion thread here!
Commentary is not to be allowed in the other Roleplay Fight
Forums, and so it should be restricted to this Sub-Forum.

What should I do if things get out of hand in my thread?
If you cannot retain order in your thread, Private Message the
roleplayer causing the issue or contact a Pillar Leader for
assistance.
I have been accused of making my character too powerful. How can
I tell if I am?
Run your character through the Universal Mary Sue Litmus Test
(HTM) http://www.springhole.net/writing/marysue.htm.
Failing that, ask
an experienced roleplayer on their thoughts.
