Is this that one?
I still dont know if same saw. I think the one I got from you is still on the shelf stock. Here is a cell phone pic chainsawchick sent me right after the recoil blew in the cut practicing for a county fair race. The crankcase and topend on the woods ported 5000 plus ABOVE was from the saw I got from you. Yours was the only one I had with the 2 holes drilled on the rear handle pad. I just put different covers on it. I found the covers on your saw on the stock one on the shelf. Also check out the 5000 plus I bought years back from a old saw shop that had closed in the PNW. It has DEMO on the top cover. She was run real rich and just needed a carb kit. From being rich for so long she has a carbon streak on piston, but it will rub out when I use it some day. Another 5000 plus piston set going out soon. ;) #Post#: 2515-------------------------------------------------- Re: Partner 5000 plus By: farmboy Date: May 15, 2011, 7:03 am --------------------------------------------------------- My 5000+ is the first Partner I've opened up. Piston quality is outstanding almost no cleanup needed on the windows. Shep #Post#: 3823-------------------------------------------------- Re: Partner 5000 plus By: Chainsawrepair Date: August 19, 2011, 10:01 am --------------------------------------------------------- I had bought a 5000 out of a closed down saw shop back in 07 from the PNW. It had good compression. so I swapped a good known carb on it and it started right up back then. I then put it on the shelf because it had a black carbon streak on the front of piston and thick black carbon all around exhaust port and inside muffler. Well yesterday I tore it down to clean the piston and after getting the black off it there was a vertical line left I could hang a nail on going across piston. Otherwise the piston looked like new underneath. Would carbon alone cause this? I will go get a pic of piston. Carbon was in the scratch and abundance of carbon in exhaust etc. #Post#: 3828-------------------------------------------------- Re: Partner 5000 plus By: Old Iron Logging Date: August 19, 2011, 5:20 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Just won a 5000 plus on Ebay.
