No. But I downloaded the shop manual from an ebooks site-can't
recall the name. It's for the 017 which is the older version of
my MS 170. Everything seems and looks the same. It helped me
immensely. It cost me $4.00-a good deal.
Anyone who needs it just email me and I'll send it to you.

Great. I'll be willing to share mine if anyone needs one down
the road. I live in the Coastal Range of Ca. and my main source
of heat for my cabin is the wood burning stove. I probably
should have purchased a bigger saw model but couldn't afford
one. With a few minor fixes the 170 has served me well for many
years. IMO, an excellent little saw

For those of you-esp. "Karl from Sweden"-to whom I sent the
repair manual I located the other day, quite by accident, a
shop manual which was stashed away in a hidden folder. If you'd
like the shop manual simply let me know, alan

The main difference is the probably the tank vent and flippy
       caps?

OK, here's the best that I can do for the time being. As stated
before I found another MS 170 manual on my laptop-I think it's
the true shop manual (?). I don't really know how to give you
an idea of the 2 different manuals other than to upload the
front page of both to Photobucket and you can view just a tiny
bit about them. I don't really know if this will work, or even
provide enough info about the manuals.
For me, not very experienced with forums, the best solution
is, if you really want to know, just email me and I'll send to
       you both .pdf files
       Here's the Photobucket link

If anyone could also be kind enough to send me the MS 170
service manual (and possibly IPL), I would be extremely
       grateful.
