I am fiddling around with the 18" Husqvarna bar for Craftsman
version of the Poulan 5020 chainsaw power head. The slot seems
tight but will mount with a press fit. I do not have the 18"
3/8" chain that came with this Husqvarna Rancher 55 take off
bar, or least can't remember where I put it years ago. I
modeled with the D70 20" chain for fit up purposes only but not
starting or running it as is until the proper chain is obtained
and installed, I think 66 DL or something like that if I
remember correctly.
Additional score- I found a small tub full of McCulloch BP-1
chainsaw power head fairings and body covers for BP-1 saw #2 I
had forgot I had that I had shelved many years ago when I
inherited the saws while still on active duty in the US Navy.

Put a file to that slot and open it up a little. Also the bar
should say on it how many DL it will take.

Hello, may be a small collector and like to restore/tinker old
saws, but do not burn them though.
Now going through a project on my Echo CS-651T, an old twin at
the Chainsaw Collectors Forum.

Was at work, got home and verified the bar has on it is 68DL.
Yes the bar slot is a little tight on the grip length or stud
shank and should be filed slightly. New chain is on the way.

Not much different in length. 68DL v/s 70DL I would drop down
to a 60DL in 3/8

Yep, on saws that take 70DL on their 20" called length bars,
64DL is 'standard' for 18" length called length. Interestingly,
60DL (sometimes 59DL) is 'standard' for 16" called length bars
on those saws (like it is on the Husky/Stihl 16" called length
bars).

I've got a 365 sitting on there now. Going to see if I have all
the parts to assemble it. I put a 372 top end on one last night
and put it back together. Then I may tear into the 650/660 and
port a cylinder or 2 for it. 3120 is waiting on a piston and
throttle cable along with the 394. Got to put stihl bar studs in
the 3120 since the holes are too loose to hold the studs in
without falling back into the oil tank.

All chainsaw projects have been shelved. If they were my own.
Just no time to fiddle with my own projects.
Wife informed me both mini tillers were leaking fuel and no
start.
2 mini tillers yesterday readied for flower beds. Both just
needing return lines. 1 broke off at tank other just cracked.
Coudnt see the crack till pushing on primer then it shows up.
Like the nice easy fixes. ;D

Craftsman mini tiller had me chasing my tail yesterday. In the
end it got a new plug.
Cant believe I didnt try that before hand. But I had just
changed some **** fuel lines and thought I had messed the tune
on carb. So then I changed fuel filter. Tuned more. Tested to
check coil. Then ate lunch and it cooled back down. Started
acting up again when I tried to use it again. So changed plug
and bingo. Root of the problem.
It is blipping out c r a cked. ::)
