Stihl MS390 - HT lead info required.

       Hi,
I have just joined this forum - I am looking for some assistance
       with my MS390.
I managed to pull the cover and connector off the HT lead whilst
doing routine servicing, I have replaced it >:(, but cannot get
the m/c to start, I suspect the hole in the side/end of the lead
is now too great for a good connection.
The lead is the 5mm type with a weird pin that pushes through
into the HT lead and then the rubber cover is slid over!!.
I have purchased a length of new 5mm HT lead from a Stihl agent
       in France.
Is it possible that you could PM me a diagram from the SM that
will show me how to replace the HT lead. (i.e where to connect
the opposite end to plug connection) I have user manual and
       IPL.
       Kind regards
John (Retired in France with 6 acres of woodland to "play" with)
       ;D

Getting the boot slid over the conductor can be a challange .
The spring connecter just pierces the wire which is about a
standard method .It might help to warm the boot a little bit and
grease the conducor with silicon grease . WD-40 might work .

       Hi Al,
You are right, it is very difficult to get that cap back on, so
much so, I am in the middle of replacing the HT lead as I think
I made a mess of the old one - trying to get a good connect,
however, I did not envisage having to take the whole m/c apart
       >:( - Just taking the carb off at the mo to get at the HT lead
source (hopefully) Still, the m/c is getting a real good clean.
       thanks for the comment
       regards
       John

       Hi Again AL,
For info, I have replaced the HT lead, gave the m/c 100% clean
and service, it worked first pull, so am very pleased.
Thanks also to cut4fun for the info on replacing the HT lead.
       cheers ;D
