By: 3000 FPS Date: December 17, 2013, 5:11 pm --------------------------------------------------------- So this was in pretty bad shape and the metal very thin. I can see why it cracked if not careful. This is a before pic. #Post#: 29651-------------------------------------------------- Re: Welding up the clutch cover on a Solo Rex. By: Chainsawrepair Date: December 17, 2013, 5:18 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Amazing. That cover was a mess in the beginning. By the way I was on the phone for a couple hours the other day shooting the chit. I was telling IMO the best production chainsaw hotsaw builder in the United States about what you can do with magnesium. He sounded very impressed over the phone. #Post#: 29658-------------------------------------------------- Re: Welding up the clutch cover on a Solo Rex. Yes the clutch cover was pretty bad and tried my patients a couple of times. I welded it from the back side also and left a little extra weld there to help it from cracking again. The magnesium was very thin. #Post#: 29951-------------------------------------------------- Re: Welding up the clutch cover on a Solo Rex.
