I would be slapping these on as replacements for sure when needed. You run yours yet? #Post#: 46148-------------------------------------------------- Re: 44mm aftermarket 5000 plus and 490 pistons By: SawTroll Date: September 11, 2014, 12:28 pm --------------------------------------------------------- What I have heard is that the Meteor cylinders are cast in the far east, and then finished and platred in Italy. I don't know for sure if it is true. #Post#: 46152-------------------------------------------------- Re: 44mm aftermarket 5000 plus and 490 pistons By: aclarke Date: September 11, 2014, 12:44 pm --------------------------------------------------------- That's interesting. Did some research and there are quite a few piston and cylinder casting companies in the area surrounding the address where the Greek Dudes company is. Wouldnt surprise me if that was the case. Casting looks very nice I'm curious if Gilardoni is still producing saw cylinders for husky/stihl? #Post#: 46157-------------------------------------------------- Re: 44mm aftermarket 5000 plus and 490 pistons By: Cut4fun Date: September 11, 2014, 1:02 pm --------------------------------------------------------- They couldnt put Italy on that cylinder could they if it wasnt cast there right? #Post#: 46164-------------------------------------------------- Re: 44mm aftermarket 5000 plus and 490 pistons By: aclarke Date: September 11, 2014, 2:13 pm --------------------------------------------------------- Found an MP (meteor) on the cylinder Casting. #Post#: 46182-------------------------------------------------- Re: 44mm aftermarket 5000 plus and 490 pistons By: SawTroll Date: September 11, 2014, 5:37 pm --------------------------------------------------------- [quote author=aclarke link=topic=2865.msg46152#msg46152 date=1410457463] That's interesting. Yes, Gilardoni (still) are. #Post#: 46197-------------------------------------------------- Re: 44mm aftermarket 5000 plus and 490 pistons By: 660magnum Date: September 11, 2014, 7:11 pm --------------------------------------------------------- I bet it varies by which model cylinder it is? ***************************************************** (DIR) Previous Page (DIR) Next Page
