       Homelite Weed Whacker

Neighbor beside me brought over his Homelite Weed whacker. It is
a more recent rendition with the Pacman needles. Says 31 cc I
think? Looked like a Homelite. Was red.
He said he bought it at a yard sale and used it for most of a
tank of gas and it just quit.
He said he filled the tank up just before he brought it over.
It would start up with full choke but not continue to run.
I opened the high speed needle up about a turn but that didn't
       change anything.
I looked at the see through tank and there appeared to be no gas
       in it.
I opened the gas tank cap for a look see and it was full of
       straight gas.
I then felt of the pull cord slowly and there was no compression
that way even though to give it a robust pull, it did flutter
       like it had compression.
I placed it over on the wood pile because his truck wasn't at
his house. About 5 PM he came home . . .
I then took the weed whacker back to him and told him it was no
good. It had no compression. It had been straight gassed.
       He said: " Not me . . .I didn't straight gas it!"
In spite of me thinking about all the raw egg on his face, I
said . . . "it would be cheaper to go buy a new one than to
       repair that one."
"That maybe he should buy another one at a yard sale?"
I showed him how you could just pull the cord out slowly without
       compression.
       You don't win them all.
