I couldn't find a service manual for the 038, 041, & 042 series
I sent you a 041AV IPL
I've done a few things to a 042. They are made like a Stihl from
the 70's.

helped a lot was afraid to dig into recoil looks like a booger
think I will try soaking it in oil before digging into it. it
sticks sometimes will not retract move it a little by hand and
it retracts. then works good for a while.
