       Benches

Built a couple of benches from a blow-down Red Oak over the
weekend. Milled a few more slabs for other benches and projects
down the road. Haven't done this in a long time. First time
here in the new home of North Carolina. I forgot how much fun
it is. Old Husky 395xp was fantastic! One tank of gas and one
       chain for five cuts.

Very nice Ray. I was wondering what you put on the bench to
help keep the wood from discoloring over time.

Honestly, I was going to let mine weather. But after a couple
of days looking at it I am havimg second thougjts. I will have
to do some research. The wood is still very green. Anything
solid like polyurethane would fail for sure.

Very nice. Be nice to have something like that at my testing
       area.

       Ohio.
I have some trees I need to drop on my land 3hrs south. If I
can keep from using them for testing. I might try something like
this. But not near as nice.
Just something to seat on etc when 3-4 of us back there testing
       the saws out.

If you decide to try it, let me know. Looks like 6 and a 1/2
       hours to Columbus from here.
