If I take the muffler off it fires right up a;most first pull every time. My question...do you clean the muffler , replace it ? Is this normal for chainsaw not to start if muffler dirty. Thanks in advance ...Walter #Post#: 83582-------------------------------------------------- Re: homelite super 2 By: Fishnuts2 Date: November 12, 2018, 8:53 pm --------------------------------------------------------- If the muffler is plugged up, the motor cannot move air through itself, and you will not get a charge of gas in the cylinder to burn. I'm thinking that you might have a spark arrestor screen in the muffler that is plugged with exhaust residue. If so, you can take it apart and burn it off with a torch until it's clean. Make sure to do it outside because there will be a lot of smoke! #Post#: 83583-------------------------------------------------- Re: homelite super 2 By: waltergorman Date: November 13, 2018, 4:35 am --------------------------------------------------------- thank you very much my friend....I will clean the screen and see if that gets me closer to where am trying to go. I will let you know how it turns out.....Peace and Blessings Walter aka "JustaNeighbor" #Post#: 83859-------------------------------------------------- Re: homelite super 2 By: waltergorman Date: December 18, 2018, 5:24 am --------------------------------------------------------- update on Super 2...cleaned muffler it runs better, starts better but I continue to have trouble with it consistently running Have rebuilt carb, changed carb but it still seems to flood.
