Another guy just got a poulan 336. He checked his and it didnt
have the thin rings like one above.
But had the chrome bore 335 cylinder with 1 think ring like
       predator 335. With the 365 3500 3.7 style covers.
Recoil was the thick with thick pulley like 365 too.

Forgot about Tim's thread on comparing his 335 and 336.
 (HTM) http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/performance-difference-335-vs-336/msg89961/#msg89961
I didn't pull the cylinders but both my 335 and 336 appear to
have the 530012367 cylinder with the pulse nipple being in the
       saw case.
I used a endoscope to have a look inside the cylinder at the
transfers on both and they appear to be like the 530012367
       cylinder.
The case is wider on the 336 in the muffler area to accommodate
       the larger muffler.
The 336 does have two thin rings. The 335 has two thin rings as
       well.
I guess I answered my performance question
       Thanks for the input.
I'm guessing the confusion comes in from the 335 IPL that uses a
530012197 cylinder and a 530010989 piston where the later ones
(Predator) comes in with the 336 530012367 cylinder and
       530069547 piston.
