Updating old thread to a new one.
Proline is only one I know of now selling the stihl flippy cap
replacement caps now. In TX from their website.

Now here is a cool part a guy in my CRG FB is doing. IMO it
will help those OCD folks that cant stand putting the new tanks
       on their 044 046 034 036 026 etc.
Guys here is a basic how to to make the flip caps look like the
old screw in caps for the 044’s and 046 saws.
Take the new Proline caps and cut the ears off and grind flat
and then take a screw in cap and cut off threads with Dremel cut
off wheel. You will also need to remove cap connector plastic
piece in center of screw in cap as well as enlarge opening so it
will clear and allow Proline cap center to still turn. Then mix
a fuel resistant epoxy of your choice and carefully apply making
sure not to get on center section. Stick em together and apply a
little pressure til they set up….sand off excess epoxy and you
will have a new style cap with old style charm.
These are the Stihl flippy cap to screw in conversion cap
prototypes for 044/046 saws. Basically a way for caps to match
       with new style tank.
Myself and KB will be testing them on our saws. You can make
these for about $25 and it’s a pain in the butt….but doable.
Grinding the tabs on the Proline caps and grinding threads and
center section out of screw in caps and epoxying together. The
center of the screw in caps has to be made larger so the center
of the Proline caps can still turn. Gotta be careful with epoxy
as well and I’m trying 2 different epoxies….doesnt look like it
will matter as they are both hella strong and both fuel
       resistant. But we will see.
