       More Protection For The KLR
By: Motozark Date: April 24, 2013, 8:46 am

Well I spent some more money on my KLR yesterday. I ordered a
combo package deal from Happy Trails for a skid plate, engine
guard with highway pegs, and the rad/ res guard. I was really
only intending on getting the skid but I couldnt pass up the
combo deal. Oh yea and I ordered the rear brake cylinder guard.
I cant wait to get it all added to the ole donkey!

Protection is a good thing - especially when taking into account
       my riding skills.

Those web sites have a way of making you buy more than you
originally intended. I'm bad for that too.

gonna ride stock until I can afford the combo kit
I am also going to get the teton 7.5 pannier kit.
       and a taller wind shield
       and bark busters
and some other farkles im sure
Hope to have it outfitted with at least the guards, skids, and
panniers by the time the next fast lane rally rolls around.

The combo kit came in yesterday and I went right to putting it
on. It sure looks good and it is better protected now! :)

I'm going to go with the SW Motech crash bars/skid plate. From
what I've read the motechs are heavier duty and attach to the
frame differently. I've seen lots of bikes with both kinds and
       don't forget Givi too!
