Sky and BBC to share F1 broadcast from next season
       By: BazTardo-UK Date: July 29, 2011, 3:58 am

I'm sure you've all probably heard the news this morning, but
for those under a stone, here goes.
From next season, Sky will broadcast all races, including
practice sessions. BBC will be given coverage of half of the
races (which races these are haven't been released yet).
So the obvious arguments have started. Why should we pay to
watch the sport, why should we pay BBC a licence fee if there's
no longer anything on we want to watch?
I'm lucky in the fact I already have a full Sky package, so it
doesn't affect me in how will I now watch it.
So my only concern is adverts. I'm happy for them to have as
many as they want in the build up and post race, but I don't
want to see them mid race like ITV used to do.
I'm pretty sure Sky will do a brilliant job of the coverage, and
no doubt poach most of the staff from BBC to help with this.
       Your thoughts?

Sky have said that the coverage will be uninterrupted so no
       advert breaks.
I agree Sky will do a good job at coverage, I just think BBC
will be the majority of fans choice and It is going to cause
rows because there will be a % of people who don't have Sky
service so will miss half the races.
I guess we will have to wait and see what it's like but i don't
see it being a popular decision

Just another way for Bernie "The Poisoned Dwarf" Eccleston to
ruin F1 even more, and get his grubby little hands on yet more
money to line his pockets with. Yeah Sky may do a good job, but
it's a very unpopular decision with the majority of F1 fans,
myself included. I think this decision will do the sport more
harm than good. It's a bad decision by the BBC too. If they
should cut any of the big sports they screen, then it should be
the horse racing. That's boring as fuck!!

I'm not happy with the move, but certainly can't see it being
       bad for the sport.
Just about every sport Sky touches they improve it. Their money
is just too good for all sports. The little bit extra that each
team will receive will go along way to improving them. Let's
face it, F1 must be the most expensive sport in the world after
football, so any extra money has to be welcomed.
The extra adverting money Sky can help all teams get from
sponsors for the practice sessions being shown live on TV
instead of hidden away on red button or website will be very
       good for them.
Like any sport that moves to Sky, the people most upset are
those that don't have it and I understand why. Sadly due to my
massive love of sport I have to force myself to afford Sky every
month, but I don't spend money on other things to compensate for
       it.

It seems Pirelli aren't happy with the deal either...
