       Lets talk diffs
       By: Tim Watson Date: December 31, 2012, 12:16 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Now I have fitted my Jmr head I need to get all that power on
       the road, all the time. And stay in front of a certain Honda!
       I've been on the quaife web site and they sell two atb duffs for
       my 020 gear box, one for a 109mm crown wheel amd one for a 111mm
       crown wheel.
       My question to you good folks is............ How do I find out
       which one i need? How do I measure my crown wheel?
       Much thanks and happy new year!

       Can you tell from the gearbox code ? (the Quaife site is offline
       just now for me to check)
       Looking at the vagcat data below I would assume that the larger
       CW is for the higher output unit ?
       differential / 1.6-2.0ltr.
       for manual gearbox / differential / 40-102KW 1.6-2.0ltr.
       pinion gear set / for 4-speed manual gearbox / for 5 speed
       manual transmiss.
       40-102KW / 3R,4R,ATH, 2Y,4S,4T, AUG,AWY
       .................
       differential / 1.8ltr.
       pinion gear set / for 5 speed manual transmiss. / differential /
       118KW 1.8ltr. / AYC,AYN,CBA
       pinion gear set / for 5 speed manual transmiss.
       118KW /

       Hi Tim,
       Here ya go mate....
       109mm = 8v gearbox
       111mm = 16v gearbox
       As suggested by GEL you can check which you have by checking the
       gearbox code which is stamped on the bottom of the bellhousing
       ;)
