layout turf, when and how to add

Hi this is probably going to be a "stupid" question to you old
timers, but I have my track backdrop ordered now and I was
asking him about the road layouts he sells, he suggested taping
the backdrop the the wall sheets I've installed and suggested
not laying the road over turf, My concern is that if I cut the
turf up to many small sections, is this going to look like a
chop job? Do most of you set your building on the turf or cut a
hole in your turf to fit them? I haven't worked with the turf
grass at all yet but before I start slicing and dicing, I was
wanting to get a idea of how easy it is to blend things back in?
I was planning on using adhesive spray for mounting the turf, so
once it goes' down its past the point of no return. I'm curious
to find some tips before I ruin a lot of material on how to best
do this,... adding other buildings to the layout later on and
such.. absolutely any knowledge would be much apricated!

It's not a stupid question. I wonder if it wouldn't be a good
idea NOT to attach the turf permanently. See how things work out
       first.
