       Lionel Thomas and friends PSU

       Hi,
We are in the UK, and I have recently aquired a Thomas and
friends set (8-81027)minus power transformer, but with
       controller.
Can anyone tell me the input power spec for the controller; ie
what voltage, AC or DC, and if DC what polarity of the barrel
connector in the rear of the controller.
I would really love to have this running for our Granchildren.
       Any help appreciated.
       TIA

       Welcome aboard, Martin.
Looking at various pictures of your Lionel G gauge Thomas set,
it APPEARS to me that the controller and transformer are one
solid piece. It also appears that Lionel uses two
slightly-different power pack/transformers for this set.
Sometimes Lionel sells individual parts, and you can contact
       them to find out.

Thank you for your welcome and reply Vince53,
The controller is definitely separate from any power supply, as
it has a 2.8mm barrel socket in the back.
The set is shown on the Lionel website, but no information for
the set (spares etc) are shown.

I have attempted to contact Lionel via email on several
occasions with no response unfortunately, and so I was hoping
someone on this forum may be able to shed some light.
I do realise that the set is an ancient one!
