Lionel Dodge track inspection truck not working and new
By: ethover Date: August 29, 2014, 3:50 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I recently purchased a Lionel Dodge Track inspection truck
6-18438 at a train show. It was new in the box for $25. Good
       deal! I thought.....
So I finally got a chance to try it out after a few weeks, and
it does not work. It seems whenever I set it on the track
nothing happens. When I push it or move it a bit, then it might
work a little. I have to "twist" it between the rails to get
some type of connection or movement. By twisting it, I mean that
it's setting on the track, then from above I grab it, and turn
left or right to get a little movement.
Does anyone know what may be the issue or can point me in the
       right direction?
       Thanks in advance!
       Eric

       Eric,
Hello & Welcome to the Forum!
Here's a link to the manual for your track inspection vehicle:
 (HTM) http://www.lionel.com/media/servicedocuments/71-8436-250.pdf
You'll want to make certain that your wheels & other electrical
       pick up points are clean.
Check to make sure that your back to back wheel spacing is
correct and the wheels & axles properly lubricated.
Also a good time to clean your track and make continuity checks
       around your layout.
       Happy Rails!
       Dave
