I want to display a non-powered loco on a siding.

New member and new to model trains. 71 yrs and excited as a kid.
My small layout is wired to run one o guage loco at a time. I
would like to display another loco or two on a siding, leaving
them unpowered and inert while operating the main loco. I'm
guessing I could insulate all three rails on the siding tracks.
       Am I correct?

Welcome to model trains, and this forum!
You just need to insulate the center rail.
