If I place the Remote/Track switch in the Track position my DCC system can turn the loco lights on/off and control movement and change speed but no sound. When I place the Remote/Track switch in the Remote position and turn on track power the front and rear lights flash rapidly. There is no "chime" sound when track power is turned on. When the remote is turned on the led on the remote flashes rapidly with no response from any button or speed change. I have tried the Lion Chief App and it does not connect to the loco. I have tried, many times, to reset the decoder using the bluetooth remote procedure in the manual with no change. Most decoders I have worked with will reset back to factory defaults if you write a specific value to the right CV. Writing 8 to CV 8 is common. All I see in the manual is writing to CV 8 will do a full decoder reset. If I write 8 to CV 8 the loco front and rear leds blink once but there is no other change. If the bluetooth remote reset procedure in the manual does not work does anyone know of any other way to reset the decoder? Thanks, #Post#: 1910-------------------------------------------------- Re: HO Polar Express 6-58018 Decoder Reset By: djacobsen Date: February 17, 2018, 12:10 pm --------------------------------------------------------- mgagneur Hello & Welcome to the Forum! l've done some searching and the following post from another forum, is as close as l could find as an answer to your problem. SilverBand7 • 203d I bought one around Christmas time last year when they first came out. As far as detail goes, the loco shell and tender shell are made of plastic. Make of that what you will. I run a Digitrax Super Chief on my layout. Every time I ran this loco on it, I've had an array of problems, such as sounds coming on even when you don't press a button on the remote and the loco suddenly speeding in reverse. At first I thought I had gotten a faulty product and had it exchanged for another one, but that one ended up doing the same thing. I'm not sure what these Lion Chief decoders have against Digitrax or what, but I've never had this happen with a loco before. My suggestion is if you do plan on getting one, be ready to do some maintenance. The way I fixed the problems on mine was simply replacing the Lion Chief decoder and plugging in a Digitrax 9-pin decoder in its place. Now, the loco runs better, but I still have a rather sour feeling towards it. I have thought about replacing the decoder but I'd like to keep the Tom Hanks sounds if I could. The grand kids do like that part :) Regards, *****************************************************
