Problem with mcModule case working with magnets

       Hi,
I just received the mcModule cases which are great and they came
with little magnets for the reed switches which I though was
awesome. unfortunately it seems that the way the agents have
been placed inside the little piece of plastic means that it
will never tricker the reed switch if they are aligned.. It only
triggers if you misalign them which is unfortunate.
Has anyone else come across this?
       Regards,
       Michal

       Hello.
Yes, I have the exact same problem.
But when I installed them on my doors then I installed a magnet
(one of the two from the case) inside the wooden frame instead
       and that turned out nice.

If only they had offset the magnets inside the bit if plastic.
I don't think the solution you have employed would work for me
as the magnet would be too far from the sensor.
It does. make me wonder about the possibility of sticking a
magnet in the top of the door and having a tiny reed switch
drilled into the doorframe and connected to an MCU up inside the
ceiling. Could work for upstairs where I have ceiling access.

I use a small separate magnet, intended for magnetic door
sensors. It's the same size as the one that comes with the case,
and is a small, white pill shaped, self adhesive item. About $3
       each. See here

Works great, gap can be 15mm and it still works. I have photos
in my post on this forum about my door sensor (see here

/>I now have my door sensor in an MC case, but use the same
       magnet.
