Managed to grab it and as usual there's just one worthwhile series at any one time. Disney is similar with the really cheap deals popping up via Clubcard points. There must be a reason why the streaming giants keep offering near-free deals. Curry's stores don't actually stock a lot of tech stuff, for anything the slightest bit specialist they ship from a central warehouse. Often at close to Amazon prices. #Post#: 301245-------------------------------------------------- Re: Five months FREE Apple TV By: suki1964 Date: November 13, 2023, 6:10 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
There was an outright free 5 month Apple TV deal on HUKD last month.
Well it might be of help to someone :) I got a mouse from amazon and its carp. Keeps disconnecting, Im having to use it wired and it wasnt much cheaper then the one Ive just collected I just hate giving Curry's my money, same as Ryanair, had to fly with them this year, near killed me to buy the tickets , if it weren't the wedding I would have refused #Post#: 301253-------------------------------------------------- Re: Five months FREE Apple TV By: Pyxis Date: November 13, 2023, 11:54 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
Curry's are giving away a 5 months Apple tv subscription on all purchases at the moment I usually refuse to buy from Curry's but I really needed a new mouse, so £20, 6% cash back PLUS the five months FREE Apple sub, I swallowed my pride and got myself a bargain :)
Why don’t you like to buy from Curry’s? #Post#: 301260-------------------------------------------------- Re: Five months FREE Apple TV By: BigLawton Date: November 14, 2023, 2:02 am --------------------------------------------------------- I think it's the in-store experience that puts some people off Curry's for life. The staff are prone to mislead you on products or are just plain witless. Curry's is however almost the last general electrical/electronics chain. But when I hopefully used their website to check for stock for a portable SSD a couple of days ago, no chance, they ship from a warehouse just like Amazon, just with a 3 day delivery instead of one. And they craftily oblige you to log in before you can even check in-store availability of items. #Post#: 301261-------------------------------------------------- Re: Five months FREE Apple TV By: suki1964 Date: November 14, 2023, 2:21 am ---------------------------------------------------------
Why don’t you like to buy from Curry’s?
Their customer service is the pits - totally non existent , and they do their best to wriggle out of consumer law Good few years back, when you got the choice of HD ready or full on HD tvs, I had to buy HD to be able to receive RTE ( Irelands tv channel ) so I go in and say this is what I need, a tv to receive RTE and got pointed out a stack. Bought it, took it home. Now this was when Mr S still worked in London, so it never got took out of the box for a week or three as it was being wall mounted. He comes home, sets it up, no RTE as it was only HD ready. So take it back and cos it was out of the 14 days or whatever, they refused to exchange it So I got a mouse , ordered online Sunday, picked it up yesterday on my way into work. Now click and collect, you get sent a link. When you get to store, you click the link to say you are there, fill in a few details and get given a queue number. I was 1, not surprising I was the only one in store, THREE staff stood gabbing and totally ignoring me stood at the check out. I had to go to them and say will someone serve Boils my pee As BL says, they dont keep very much of anything in stock and delivery times can be hell on earth. My local electrical store, family run, you walk in, you are greeted ( by name in my case ) asked if you need help, the relevant member of staff is located and you get full service. You choose your purchase , you negotiate your discount ( always get a discount as a returning customer ), you pay. If it's an item you are taking with you, it is bought to the car and loaded for you. If it's a big item for delivery, it's there at home the same day or following morning. Buy a TV, they come and set it up for you, buy a fridge or cooker, they take the old one away - all included in the price and the prices are often less then Curry's. However they dont sell mice :) #Post#: 301262-------------------------------------------------- Re: Five months FREE Apple TV By: BigLawton Date: November 14, 2023, 2:28 am ---------------------------------------------------------
My local electrical store, family run, you walk in, you are greeted ( by name in my case ) asked if you need help, the relevant member of staff is located and you get full service.
Sounds just like Euronics where we got our last washing machine. Even so, their in-store prices are notably higher than the much promoted Euronics website prices. You basically have to walk in and say "do you match your own online prices?" and proceed from there. #Post#: 301276-------------------------------------------------- Re: Five months FREE Apple TV By: suki1964 Date: November 14, 2023, 4:21 am ---------------------------------------------------------
Sounds just like Euronics where we got our last washing machine.
Yes they are part of the Euronics umbrella . We have 3 kind of locally, two of them are family run and fantastic, the third - meh The one I use automatically match the website price and will price match anywhere else. Plus they have the most beautiful coffee shop, its a lovely shop. The best thing is they stand over their products, none of this out of warranty malarkey. #Post#: 301406-------------------------------------------------- Re: Five months FREE Apple TV By: donnajunkie Date: November 14, 2023, 12:53 pm ---------------------------------------------------------
And they craftily oblige you to log in before you can even check in-store availability of items.
I do in store stock checks without logging in. Its got a but rubbish in recent years with alot of the time it doesnt tell you if its in stock or not and just says delivered to store. It was doing this with a phone i wanted. I went along to our local store and asked and they said they are in stock in a store 10 miles away. He could see i wasnt keen and quickly said we can get one sent here. I said no thanks i know another store where i can get it today. It just meant a short journey a bit further away, better than 10 miles though. *****************************************************
