Definitely a song that could never be improved upon but I think
this version is OK. I assume it came from the Ian Levine
       collection......

I'm not sure if I'd ever heard it before but I thought it was
O.K. It's well sung and I've heard far worse. As DDinVirginia
suspected it is an Ian Levine production.
It seems that there was an entire CD of Mr Levine's HDH
re-creations released in 1995 called "The Very Best Detroit
Dance Hits-21 Holland-Dozier-Holland Classics" and this version
of "You Can't Hurry Love" is included.

Having listened to some of the tracks on YT I don't think that
I'll be seeking out the CD but Syreeta's version of
"Reflections" sounds good to me ...

You know I an had a big heart and honest intentions when it came
to recreating the Motown sound and giving all those artists the
opportunity to record again. Many of them are less than
complimentary to Ian but I have to say who else would have given
them the time of day let alone give them the opportunity to
       record again.
His problems came about as he wanted to do just too much - many
of the record companies that dealt with Motorcity gave up after
being told they had to release so many LP's and singles every
month, there just wasn't the sales to be had for the volume of
material being released and then there was the blatant use of
the oh so eighties snyths instead of real backing music. If Ian
had slowed down a bit - released fewer tracks and could have
afforded real musicians he may well have done better - then
there was the marketing - you just could not get behind so many
tracks. In fact the only one that did really well was the late
Frances Nero's, Footsteps which did the best of any of
Motorcity's tunes but only because it was leased out to
Debut/Passion and they only had one track to work on. A terrible
shame and a missed opportunity - a pity there's no money there
to do a Royal Philharmonic in a smaller way on some of the
       better Motorcity tracks.
