Curious rhythm pattern on that one MS, I don't think I've heard
it before but it seems it was on the "B" side of one of their US
       45s ...

The "A" side was written by a "G Clinton", could that be George
Clinton of ParliaFunkamentdelic fame? It doesn't sound like one
       of his tunes ....

"You're My Only World" was written by George Clinton. George
had previously been a staff writer for Motown's New York venture
in the mid sixties - operated by Raynoma. Apparently he added
many many songs to the Jobete catalogue back then - several
released by non Motown artists on other labels. Not sure when
he wrote "You're My Only World"
"So Near (And Yet So Far) is a glorious track - arranged by
David Van DePitte. The rhythm is unusual but reminds me a
little of The Isley's "One Too Many Heartaches".

After researching further I don't think that the G. Clinton who
wrote "You're My Only World" is the ParliadelicFunkament George
Clinton at all ... I think that it is the "other" George Clinton
whose "Please Don't Run From Me" got some NS interest and was
released as a UK 45 on ABC in 1975.
Evidence for this ... apart from it not sounding sufficiently
"weird" ... is that it was published by "Warner Bros Music Corp
& Brown's Mill Music" as was "Hold On To Your Lady" which was a
US 45 in 1974 for the "other" George Clinton.

And having fought my way through the search facilities at
Discogs I find that the "other" George Clinton had a song of the
same name on his 1974 US LP ....

I can't find it on YT but it has to be the same song.

       Roger
I didn't realise that "Please don't run " was NOT George
       Clinton.
