The Legends of Aztec- 2012 [Approved]

I arose from my bed and crept over to the window during the
dead of night. I slowly opened the shutters and stared out into
the silent night. I looked up at the full moon, illuminating the
dark sky. I felt as though the moon was staring back. I looked
at my alarm clock from across the room. 6:09, it read. I am
supposed to wake up in an hour to get ready for school, but I
cannot sleep. I heard about this day, December 21st. The end of
the world. Although I thought these were just ridiculous rumors,
I couldn't help but wonder. The prophecy of the Aztecs say that
the world shall end on December 21st, 2012 at 6:10 A.M. About
half a minute away. Due to this day being the Winter Solstice,
it was still as dark as the dawn of night. I stare at my alarm
clock, from what seems to be the longest minute of my life.
Finally, the alarm clock flashes. 6:10 A.M. I wait another
thirty seconds. There is an eerie silence, and I finally draw a
conclusion; this is just a myth. I slowly walk back to my bed,
sit down, and reset my alarm clock. But just as I am pressing
the buttons on the alarm clock, the alarm clock suddenly goes
out. All of the electricity seems to be out, including my fan
that was once blowing cool air in my direction. All of a sudden,
the house starts shaking!
I sit there in shock. Suddenly, my alarm clock flickers and
regains power. All of the other electricity seems to be out. The
radio automatically turns on. The house is still slowly shaking.
My parents run upstairs and barge into my room. They are about
to carry me out in a desperate attempt to save the family, but
we listen to the radio when we hear what sounds like an alien!
We do not recognize the accent, or the language. But for some
reason, I understand what they are saying. They are going to
destroy the world. I rush to my window and look outside. A
colossal aircraft is hovering above the entire area. I suddenly
see a flash of light, and everything goes white. I can only see
white. I then hear a loud noise, sounding like a demolishing
explosion, and I feel flames engulfing me. I fall to the floor
just then.
I suddenly open my eyes. I am lying in my bed. Everything
seems normal, except for the utter silence. I glance over at my
alarm clock. 7:35. I look over at my calender, hanging on my
left wall by a single nail. December 21st, 2012. Our last day of
school until vacation is today. I arise from my bed. I was
almost late for school.

Accepted! You have some true talent, and I love the effect you
add to the story with your descriptions. There were no grammar
mistakes, and that is always a plus. It didn't seem that there
were any gaps, and it was well-written. Well done! I will add
you to the writer list right now.
